6 tips to find the ideal outfit for a job
interview
Looking after your clothes for an interview is not the
first thing you think about and yet it's a necessary step. You will also be
judged during your presentation on non-verbal elements such as your style of
dress, your gestures, the tone of your voice, etc ...
Anyone consciously or unconsciously judges the
presentation of a person. It is an undeniable fact that has been widely proven
because, nowadays, appearance also matters.
An employer does not expect you to be
"fashion" and it is not about style in reality but it wants you to be
presentable to all your interlocutors in company (customers, collaborators,
partners). It is then more a question of neutrality and simplicity here.
1 # Stay neutral but stay yourself: What does it mean?
Do not camouflage yourself, show your movements. You
are not asked to hide behind loose clothing or even to inhibit your
personality. To dress to match an environment is to find a "middle
ground" between your style, that of your interlocutors and your future
professional circle.
2 # Choose the colors of his outfit
It is advisable to use mostly neutral tones to make up
his outfit: Beige, gray, anthracite, black, white, navy blue. They should
represent the main color of your outfit but you can add to that color
accessories for the touch of energy and dynamism. Choose the colors that go
with your complexion and if you do not know them, try out in front of your
mirror.
3 # Choose an outfit according to its morphology
On the whole it is important to clear the wrists, the
neck so that your gestures are clearly visible and affirmed. If you are round,
you will prefer uniform outfits to lift the silhouette. If you are thin, avoid
too loose clothing that would make you look like an erased candidate.
4 # Adapt to the dress code of his profession
Each profession has its dress code and the previous
tips must be adapted to the position. Also, think about looking for company
photos on the web, you may find directions. For example, if you are a graphic
designer, it is much easier to dare the original colors and patterns.
On the other hand, if you are a manager, your job
requires organization and rigor. One can ideally put on a modern navy blue suit
/ suit, a little reminiscent of the uniform.
For managers of "cool" areas, such as
communication, you can break the tight side of the tailor by associating it
with a casual element (a plain t-shirt, city shoes).
When you are a young woman working in a man's
environment, the boyfriend-oriented tailor can probably be an idea to exploit!
Avoid being strict in a creative environment and too
relaxed in an environment that requires rigor and seriousness.
5 # What to avoid
Wrinkled clothes: it's a sign of negligence ...
The imposing accessories, a make-up makeup: simplicity
is more likely to be appreciated.
The distracting elements: big jewels in the shape of
catfish, a perfume that feels like 3km away, a fluorescent yellow varnish, a tie
with red polka dots, it's sure that your interlocutor will have a hard time
focusing on what you saying.
Sexy clothes: to stay professional you will avoid
low-cut necklines and short clothing. Similarly, if you are a boy you will not
unbutton his shirt to the Italian revealing the chest! You will never be taken
seriously this way.
Clothes that do not feel comfortable: dress
comfortably to maintain confidence and relax.
Do not come without a bag. Do not come with a tiny
bag. Choose medium to large bags that can hold a small notebook, a notebook, or
even a folder with your resume. Come with your
documents and what to note.
